September 9th 2021,  Nicolás Deschle of TNO presented research done on fuel consumption at intersections in a hybrid setting at the HVTT16 conference that took place in Qingdao, China.

The title of the paper is "Fuel Consumption in Signalized Intersections: Potential Savings". It has analyzed the impact of signalized intersections on fuel consumption of Heavy Duty vehicles, and found that 0.12 L of Diesel can be saved at each intersection crossing per vehicle. The feedback from the audience was positive, emphasizing the need to evaluate the total impact in the intersection including all directions and the need to estimate the total economic impact.
