Using Blogs within a company can help inform employees and bring a department's employees together.
A blog is a truncation of the word weblog, a type of informational article or even a personal journal. Blogs are more popular now thanks in part to WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger, and other online services that allow users to present their thoughts and ideas to the large mass known as the Internet. DMI offers blogs for your company's employees to bring attention to special events, happenings, and even whimiscal observations.
A blog is like an article, though some companies may have a difference designation between blogs and articles; articles can be used for company wide purposes, like news announcements, while blogs are used by just the departments, such as with a department blog or newsletter or even weekly comic strip.
Blogs work in the same way Articles do and are created the same as well. They are listed under the Create option, then Add blog post. The same pop up window asking you to choose a Space will also come up; here, you choose which Space you'd like the blog to be posted to.
The blog entry looks similar to the article creation page, including the ability to make the post a featured item. The item that is missing is the Enable anonymous comments, which will be discussed further below.
